
Well I installed and uninstalled the graphics driver and here is what it felt like: What I'm questioning is, should I keep the 'custom' but outdated and probably no longer revised version of the graphic's driver by Microsoft, or "bypass" it to the latest revision by Intel itself and keep it up to date with the constant improvements? Since Microsoft's latest revision (24.20.100.6299) is from Augand the latest from Intel (30.0.101.1340) is from Febru(very recent and probably more proficient). Could doing this update improve general aspects like responsiveness and battery life since it's the latest revision, or maybe worse it since it's a "general" version? When acessing Intel's Driver Support Assistant, it informs me that the current Graphics driver (24.20.100.6299) is custom made for the device ( *), and so it can't be upgraded by them, but, after installing Driver Easy, a software that supposedly scans the latest approved drivers by Microsoft and supported by your device, it informs and allows me to update the Intel HD Graphics 520 Driver to the latest '30.0.101.1340' (general latest version for this graphics). So, if those drivers don’t work for you, go to your computer manufacturer’s web site and look for an updated graphics driver from them.Should I keep Surface Pro 4's Intel HD Graphics 520 driver on the '24.20.100.6299' version ( custom made for the SP4 (*)) or update to the newest '30.0.101.1340' ( general new version)? However, be aware that the drivers directly from Intel will not work for all computers using the HD 520 and 530 graphics cards. The latest drivers from Intel can be found on the Intel web site, and you should try installing these first. If you are experiencing this problem, you should update your computer’s graphics drivers. However, this does not appear to work for all users.


Some users have been able to get around the issue by copying & pasting their digital download key into the product key field rather than hand-typing the key. The problem manifests in the installer window “freezing” partway through the installation, at which point the buttons and text boxes in the installer stop responding, and the only option is to quit the installer. This is caused by a problem in old versions of the Intel graphics drivers.

There is a known issue running the X-Plane 11 Installer on computers with Intel HD 520 or Intel HD 530 graphics cards.
